Prince of Orange visits Damen Shipyards

On Friday 27 January, His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange visited the three yards of the Damen Shipyards Group in Vlissingen.

Integrated Mast Module (IMM) installed on Oceangoing Patrol Vessel (OPV) Holland for the Royal Netherlands Navy.

After successful platform trials, handover to the Netherlands Defence Materiel Organisation(DMO) and initial tests by the Royal Netherlands Navy the first OPV Holland returned to DAMEN Schelde Naval Shipbuilding in Vlissingen for the installation of the Integrated Mast Module (IMM).

‘The small spaces ask for quite a bit of creativity’

"About a year ago, I started looking for a new job. At the time, I was working as a maintenance mechanic and was on the lookout for a new challenge. I was able to start for Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding as a piping engineer. The job appealed to me straight away. Here at DSNS we work on a beautiful and interesting product. And above all, career opportunities are almost unlimited."
