CLASS PARTICULAR

The AOR Amsterdam has been in use by the Royal Netherlands Navy since 1995, its year of commissioning. It has participated in various NATO exercises, and has played a role in various UN operations. It has been on missions all round the world, in the winter North Atlantic and in the tropics. The value of the concept, the logic of the on board storage and the transportation routes, the behaviour at sea, the helicopter operations capacity, and the replenishment system have all been tested in practice.
