Auxiliary vessels are considered the workhorses of the world's navies. As every military strategist knows: it's not the weaponry that makes a successful mission; it's the logistics behind it.
Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding has vast experience in matching commercial and military standards and specifications, enabling it to offer military enhancements according to customer specifications. This is generally achieved by making commercial equipment suitable for naval application through smart interface engineering. We work in accordance with IMO/SOLAS and commercial regulations.
Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding produces three types of Naval Auxiliary vessels:
the Enforcer Landing Platform Dock (LPD) series;
the Hydrographic Research Vessel (HRV) series;
the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) vessel.
These state-of-the-art vessels are all based on reference ships that were built for the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) in close cooperation with the RNLN and renowned institutes like the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the Maritime Research Institute Netherland (MARIN). All vessels are equipped with the latest sensor and weapon suites and cutting-edge communication, automation and propulsion systems.
